Recently I realised that I tend to spend more time with my phones than people that I love. So last Saturday I decided that I will not use technology (TV, mobile and laptop). There are 3 things that I learnt from that day that I would like to share it with you today.

First of all, I realise that I have is too much time. Normally I would watch Youtube/Netflix or surfing Facebook. So I got so much and I dont know what to do with it. So I decided to go to book store to pick up something to read. Spent a lot of time in the book store, finanly I bought a book about Personal Development from Tony Robbins. Turn out I quite enjoy the book.

Secondly, it makes me appreciate the technologies I currently have. Communication, it is really hard to try to contact someone without a phone. For example, In the morning, my wife went to the gym. And because I want to go the bookstore so what I want to her know that I will be at the bookstore. But I do not know how to do that so I just let her a note at home. It makes me realise that it is so easy to communicate with the phone. Because the phone will tell you whether your message will be delivered or read.

Finally, and this is the most important thing that I learnt that day. I learnt to live in the present more. For example, normally we go out for dinner we would take photos of our foods and post them on Facebook and then during the meal we keep checking to see if someone likes the photo. But that day we not using the phone, it allows us to enjoy the meal and the talk. It makes me realise that there is something that been missing. I didnt live in the present.

At the end of that day, I really glad that I did “no technology day”. It turn out it quite a good day for me. I found a few things that learnt for myself. I am curious to know what your day will be when you not using technology.

Thank you
